Two new workshops developed will detail the "process of
inquiry" while staying true to the concept of Dollar Daze and Thrifty
Finds. This means utilizing inexpensive and readily available resources to
promote literacy and research, in addition to using Web 2.0 Tools and Apps to facilitate
and demonstrate new learning.

Children’s books will be used as a catalyst to
address core science ideas, cross-cutting concepts, literacy, and inquiry in a
meaningful way. A variety of activities will be deconstructed to analyze how
science concepts, literacy and inquiry can be successfully integrated to teach
for understanding.

Learning and Memories in Small Bites
In this workshop postcards serve as a
starting point for a number of activities that focus on inquiry and learning. Activities will address:
- writing and critical thinking
- personal and cultural connections
- science and geography
- point of view
- exit cards/reflection/metacognition
- design and media analysis
- art using instagram prints/collage maker
